A Short Note On Surnames

Now I'm here to tell something about a madness some of us still used to follow. We all know the consequences of our country’s caste system. Sadly, those consequences were never good. And this is not a “Change the world” post that speaks against caste; that recommends destroying the caste system. We all know that will never happen.

I’m damn sure that not a single Indian can list all the castes we follow. Some of us stick to one and carry the name all the way in their life. I mean, those times are gone. Of course, our great grandfathers used their caste names as their surnames. But, we’re in a different era. An era people started to treat everyone equally without any caste differences. And yes, it’s just a start, a good start. But still, few people keep using the surname stupidity.

You know what the worst part is? They bring their surnames to social media. That was the most irritating thing ever happened to me in the social media. (Oh yes, candy crush requests are there.) Not only the people around us, even some well acclaimed politicians, film stars, directors and many other celebrities are having this surname “pride”. I don’t know what their motive of using their caste name is. On my point of view, it sounds stupid. Listing those celebs here will completely break the point of this post.

To all those people who use such surnames, I have a kind request for you. It is your freedom to choose your surname. I’m not blaming anyone. Many people quoted this before. If you really want to do something that will make your successors proud, start with letting go of those surnames. And to people like me, Spread the word. See y’all..!!

Truth and Lies Are Human Values

I am on my way to school its July, so there is a gentle breeze; I never knew that day will turn out to be eye opener. My school used to be famous for studies and all mischievous activities. There was a fight between two of my friends, Saran and Abraham, the Friday evening as it is a common thing with friends, gets a small fight while leaving classes and this matter is somehow traveled to the class teacher’s ears.

So it’s time to get popularity and your name will be murmured for some days even for weeks by all friends until she solves the issue. Sometimes it will be taken to principal’s office; there you have to stand out for a while and whoever sees you (teachers) will ask about it later on when they have their class and you will be on the scene. On a positive note I will take this as a chance to make you familiar to everyone as there is a non-understandable and worthless rule is there it’s called ‘No Talk with girls’ and vice-versa for boys.

So now into the act, she is asking everyone about the incident as we boys always tell things in favor of our buddy, she really don’t know what she could do with asking us questions. So she had one more option, she straight away asked the victims to clearly explain what happened and what is the reason behind their quarrel.

She shoots a question to Abraham, Is it you the one who started the fight.

He strongly objected no.

Now the same question to Saran, he blamed on Abraham and smiled at him like nothing happened last Friday, because they themselves sorted it out, it seems to be alright between them and the class teacher now started this again because the complaint is not only about the fight but also one has used some bad words like the***iya during the fight. So she wanted to know who said it.

Now in a huge anger she turned towards Abraham and asked him, is he a true Christian? Including himself in this sort of silly fights, telling bad words, roaming with friends on late evenings and now she said that she wanted to know who used that word. Also she ended with a staring look towards Abraham and said, a true Christian never lies.

This is the plot, it just passed me as an ordinary incident that day, but later when I recollect, I had a huge doubt that is speaking truth only belongs to Christians? And a teacher can teach her students about humanity, how to treat people instead that she is preaching religious values to that boy. There are many places to speak about the almighty, but a school is a place to learn about seeing people as people, hope the concept of uniform is known to everyone. So one of my friend who is a non-Christian, puts his head down and murmured are we allowed to lie? If so am I not punished? I made a small laughter. It’s not that she should not tell about Christianity, everyone around is not Christians and should consider that.

The point is it’s a teacher’s duty to make her student a human and not to restrict him into a religious circle. So in general India needs good humans, irrespective of the religion and school has a major part in doing so.

Engineering aka Unemployment

Not sure where I read this question. You’re in need of a driver, two guys approaches. One having a driving license but doesn't knows how to drive. The other not having a driving license but knows how to drive. Who will you hire?

Isn't the answer obvious? The same happens in our country today. Everyone can get an engineering degree, but only few of us have the ability to land a job. There is an uncountable number of engineering colleges gives out millions of engineers every year. Does everyone get a job? Or a job related to their field? No. Only passionate engineers are making to it. Reason, the spoon-feeding methodology is still happening in many of those colleges. Their only aim is to make every students pass the exams. Once passing out the college, the students become clueless of what next. Talented gets a job. Those who are afraid of job searching go for a post-graduation and postpone job searching for 2 years. Once out from there, the search begins and as a result of failure, they join some engineering college; works hopelessly; eventually producing the “engineers” like them; completes the cycle.

And those who are destined to hunt a job, they suffer, struggle and end up working in a start up with low wages. Some are still searching. Engineering had become a fantasy among our society. Many of us are blindly joins because they’ve informed that an engineer can earn a lot. It’s true, but only a true engineer can. And the parents in India, who are still deciding what their son/daughter should become, just give them a break. Let them chase their dream.

And Fellow Engineers, if someone asks for career advice to you, here is a stat I’ve experienced. On a freelancing website a project is posted for a fixed cost of $7, just $7 and do you know the number of applicants just after 2 minutes from posting? It’s 64 and 53 are from India. Now you know what to advise them.

Peace Out..!!

A Message To Empty Vessels

The Passion is something that your heart keeps on telling you to do when no one believes but you do. You have never liked to care about the talks that were behind and even told for you personally.

The problem is, there are some morons still in this world who could only say that their life time achievement is working under a concern and it ends under it. This is their life and will say that they have so much experience in that field. The real thing is they were sold on a life time price and it will be paid on a monthly basis. They never led their dreams to cherish and these people coined the terms workaholic, which means that they are addicted to work and I am amazed that are your life time dream is working for a salary, not even helping someone around or getting your family for an outing?

There may be some great people and they come under the known people category but will be your 'friend' in Facebook. Their role is to burn their stomach on what you do and comment on it. Never knows to appreciate a first step but knows to congratulate on your day when you are authorized by the whole world and when you are down, will be there to laugh on you or divert you to be a dumb as they are. When someone builds a home on match stick someone will be there to say that it can’t stand against a wind or they could do a better built than this.

Before entering cinema, what if Rajnikanth thought, there is already good actors doing good. Only the passion to become something makes you yourself. There may be best people at your place, but it’s true that when you do it with your hand it’ll be your handcraft and just enjoying the craft is the best way.
The one who keeps on talks with analysis can only be best at doing that, admiring others and talking about them can be a different thing but these peoples sole aim is to keep on talking about the passionate guy and at last end it with an affirmative statement that he had pretty luck.

I keep on remembering some faces while writing this but when you read this if you think it might be you who tells success is luck just look at your life you could have never failed, it means you never tried which tells that you are not going to be succeeded and you are not even in the list to be called as a winner by luck. So make your move instead of commenting on success.

To My dear girls Dads

You have never gave any freedom to your daughter, from her very young age you train her to be like her mother who is living her worst life and she spent her major time only from walking to kitchen and hall. You never gave ears to your daughters and you will tease her with giving of a little freedom then and there once in a while, like sending her to an excursion during her school, to show off yourself as a man who would do anything to your kid. But that innocent girl never knows that that will be the maximum thing you could do to your daughter.

You drink, you smoke and you were never nice to your partner, but you pretend to be. You might have got beaten by police-men on roads or even on a scam that is yet to be arrested and you will be behaving like you are ruling the world inside your home.

After her 16's you start to restrict her more and she is not allowed to be like before and you will grow a coward and at this time she will be in a mindset that all the men in this world are born drinkers by the way you are now. And she doesn't want to get married to any drunkard. But then and there you pretend to be a best dad by giving of some gold jewels. So, for her these jewels are the most precious thing and that’s the way you taught her. The distance between two longest things in this world could be measured by the way you give freedom to your son and the way you give freedom to your daughter.

She would like to dance or sing but you could watch some other girls dance but never let your daughter to do so, this is because the way you see a girl is awesome and you want to prevent your daughter from other males’ awesome vision like you do. You failed to teach her courage but tell her that girl should have politeness. By this time she could have lost her dreams and she can see the world outside by hiding behind her school or college.

This is the way I came across many girls, who always have a fear to do what they wanted, from wearing a dress to having a male as a friend. So in your views all the guys at youth hood are there to peek at your girl and may be misuse. But I am sorry to say this, the way you rated guys will never be as bad as you are, you are stealing a girls freedom but that guy at her age will at least do something crazy to make her smile.

The most arrogant thing you do is, You give her education only to get a name in the society to showcase yourself in the name as you are fulfilling your daughter’s needs. But the course she has chosen is your choice. Then the conclusion of most of your part is, even the invitation you printed for your daughters marriage knows that her heart is filled with love but she just accepts to your voice and your part will be continued by another drunkard from your same caste, religion and some more relevant things, the only thing missed will be you have forgotten to see whether their heart matches which is not important to you. And your part will be replaced by someone as her husband and this continues.

Disclaimer : If you think your dad provides you everything including freedom then you are an exception.

Yours bloggingly,
Karthi Sukanthan

Two Life Quotes, Better Explained

Never Compare Yourself With others… Never..!!

“If you’re comparing yourself with others, you’re insulting yourself.”

Your classmate got higher grades than you? , Your Colleague got a raise, but not you? You’re in no position to compare them with you and whine. They got what they deserved, so as you. Even, if you’re that person who got higher grades or salary, you must not compare you with them and shouldn’t be thinking you’re the better man than the other person. This is not the end. You can reach more heights.  Everyone has a unique life and unique talents. Be happy with what you got.

Also, never allow someone to compare you with others. Instead of explaining them, show your uniqueness and let them realize. And those puny humans, who compare themselves with you and jealous of you all the time; better, stay away from them.

Worrying And Caring About The Future

Generally worrying about things can harm you in more ways. It is a waste of time; things will not get solved just by sitting and worrying; it spoils your health too; Think of it, does worrying about things that are not in your hands will be of any use? We are supposed to live the present without having a thought about future. Anyway, it’s not practically possible for many of us. Meanwhile, caring about future, differs a lot from worrying. Caring starts right at the moment you stop worrying.

Consider this simple scenario; you’re waiting for the train on a late night, which you don’t know the arrival time.

·         Worrying: Simply sitting on the platform, looking at your watch and crushing your mind with unwanted fears.

·         Living the present: You know, there will be a train arriving; be cool; doing any other things that makes the moment interesting; somehow you’re gonna go home.

·         Caring: You ask some stranger nearby or walk to the time table; know the arrival time; stay relaxed.

Hope this helps. Caring is somewhat better than worrying. But, it’s suggested worldwide to live the moment.

Recap of The Week: The Prestige

Three Men show proudly presents you the new featured post ‘Recap of the week’. From now on, every week there will be a recap. We’re going to recap movies that are epic and remain unknown to the most of us Indians. These posts will have solid reasons, why you should consider watching the recapped movies. Let’s get into the first one.

The prestige(2006) - a supernatural thriller movie by Christopher Nolan. The plot travels on a rivalry between two magicians Alfred Borden and Robert Angier in a non-linear way. The word prestige has given a marvellous explanation in the movie, 'Every magic act has 3 parts. First one: The pledge - the magician shows you ordinary something. Second one: The turn - the magician turns that ordinary something into extra-ordinary, (like disappearance). You wouldn't clap yet. Because, making something disappear isn't a big thing, the magician should bring it back that’s the third one called The prestige'.

The whole movie is a magic trick. Once you've seen the movie you’ll be fooled and will be looking for the secret (which is mentioned in the movie itself). I bet many have ended up watching the movie twice or more. I'm one of them. Apart from the excellent screenplay Alfred Borden’s dedication towards his work gives us a good habit to pick up. The movie is based on a novel by Christopher Priest. The movie casts well-known actors like Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson, Michael Caine etc. Still, It haven’t reached many ears and eyes.

I don’t want this post to be a spoiler for those haven’t watched. May be I can’t write well about a storyline without being a spoiler, as it is my first post about a movie. But I'm sure even a word about the story can be a spoiler.

Christopher Nolan is one of the most gifted film-makers of our generation. You’ll realize this when watching this movie. ‘This deserves your movie bucket list’. You won’t get disappointed by sparing your time with the movie. Share your valuable thoughts about the film in comments..!!
