A Short Note On Surnames

Now I'm here to tell something about a madness some of us still used to follow. We all know the consequences of our country’s caste system. Sadly, those consequences were never good. And this is not a “Change the world” post that speaks against caste; that recommends destroying the caste system. We all know that will never happen.

I’m damn sure that not a single Indian can list all the castes we follow. Some of us stick to one and carry the name all the way in their life. I mean, those times are gone. Of course, our great grandfathers used their caste names as their surnames. But, we’re in a different era. An era people started to treat everyone equally without any caste differences. And yes, it’s just a start, a good start. But still, few people keep using the surname stupidity.

You know what the worst part is? They bring their surnames to social media. That was the most irritating thing ever happened to me in the social media. (Oh yes, candy crush requests are there.) Not only the people around us, even some well acclaimed politicians, film stars, directors and many other celebrities are having this surname “pride”. I don’t know what their motive of using their caste name is. On my point of view, it sounds stupid. Listing those celebs here will completely break the point of this post.

To all those people who use such surnames, I have a kind request for you. It is your freedom to choose your surname. I’m not blaming anyone. Many people quoted this before. If you really want to do something that will make your successors proud, start with letting go of those surnames. And to people like me, Spread the word. See y’all..!!

Truth and Lies Are Human Values

I am on my way to school its July, so there is a gentle breeze; I never knew that day will turn out to be eye opener. My school used to be famous for studies and all mischievous activities. There was a fight between two of my friends, Saran and Abraham, the Friday evening as it is a common thing with friends, gets a small fight while leaving classes and this matter is somehow traveled to the class teacher’s ears.

So it’s time to get popularity and your name will be murmured for some days even for weeks by all friends until she solves the issue. Sometimes it will be taken to principal’s office; there you have to stand out for a while and whoever sees you (teachers) will ask about it later on when they have their class and you will be on the scene. On a positive note I will take this as a chance to make you familiar to everyone as there is a non-understandable and worthless rule is there it’s called ‘No Talk with girls’ and vice-versa for boys.

So now into the act, she is asking everyone about the incident as we boys always tell things in favor of our buddy, she really don’t know what she could do with asking us questions. So she had one more option, she straight away asked the victims to clearly explain what happened and what is the reason behind their quarrel.

She shoots a question to Abraham, Is it you the one who started the fight.

He strongly objected no.

Now the same question to Saran, he blamed on Abraham and smiled at him like nothing happened last Friday, because they themselves sorted it out, it seems to be alright between them and the class teacher now started this again because the complaint is not only about the fight but also one has used some bad words like the***iya during the fight. So she wanted to know who said it.

Now in a huge anger she turned towards Abraham and asked him, is he a true Christian? Including himself in this sort of silly fights, telling bad words, roaming with friends on late evenings and now she said that she wanted to know who used that word. Also she ended with a staring look towards Abraham and said, a true Christian never lies.

This is the plot, it just passed me as an ordinary incident that day, but later when I recollect, I had a huge doubt that is speaking truth only belongs to Christians? And a teacher can teach her students about humanity, how to treat people instead that she is preaching religious values to that boy. There are many places to speak about the almighty, but a school is a place to learn about seeing people as people, hope the concept of uniform is known to everyone. So one of my friend who is a non-Christian, puts his head down and murmured are we allowed to lie? If so am I not punished? I made a small laughter. It’s not that she should not tell about Christianity, everyone around is not Christians and should consider that.

The point is it’s a teacher’s duty to make her student a human and not to restrict him into a religious circle. So in general India needs good humans, irrespective of the religion and school has a major part in doing so.

Engineering aka Unemployment

Not sure where I read this question. You’re in need of a driver, two guys approaches. One having a driving license but doesn't knows how to drive. The other not having a driving license but knows how to drive. Who will you hire?

Isn't the answer obvious? The same happens in our country today. Everyone can get an engineering degree, but only few of us have the ability to land a job. There is an uncountable number of engineering colleges gives out millions of engineers every year. Does everyone get a job? Or a job related to their field? No. Only passionate engineers are making to it. Reason, the spoon-feeding methodology is still happening in many of those colleges. Their only aim is to make every students pass the exams. Once passing out the college, the students become clueless of what next. Talented gets a job. Those who are afraid of job searching go for a post-graduation and postpone job searching for 2 years. Once out from there, the search begins and as a result of failure, they join some engineering college; works hopelessly; eventually producing the “engineers” like them; completes the cycle.

And those who are destined to hunt a job, they suffer, struggle and end up working in a start up with low wages. Some are still searching. Engineering had become a fantasy among our society. Many of us are blindly joins because they’ve informed that an engineer can earn a lot. It’s true, but only a true engineer can. And the parents in India, who are still deciding what their son/daughter should become, just give them a break. Let them chase their dream.

And Fellow Engineers, if someone asks for career advice to you, here is a stat I’ve experienced. On a freelancing website a project is posted for a fixed cost of $7, just $7 and do you know the number of applicants just after 2 minutes from posting? It’s 64 and 53 are from India. Now you know what to advise them.

Peace Out..!!

Diogenes - The Legend

This time it’s about a saint who showed us how to live. Even Alexander the Great, had a change in him after he met this saint. I said 'Alexander the great' because no one seems to respect someone near who is more priceless. They need to be authorized by someone who had some prefix or suffix like Alexander. So the saint name is Diogenes. I don’t know how many heard about Diogenes, but he should be known like how we know Sachin.

When Alexander came across India, he heard about this great man and he really want to meet him. So he is searching for Diogenes and came to know that he was taking sun bath near a river bank. The King is really embarrassed to meet him, but he didn’t find any movement in him as he is just lying naked and the king is waiting for him. After a long time he went near Diogenes to wake him, but the saint opened his eyes and inquired about his arrival. Alexander replied that he had heard about him and wanted to see him.

The saint then asked him who he was. Alexander is surprised and told him that he is Alexander the Great and inquired him with exclamation that how could he never come across a great king who ruled most part of this world.

The saint then replied, ‘you call yourself as the great!!!’
Alexander then answered, ‘I am a king so called as Alexander the great’.

Then Diogenes told, ‘Oh!! So you have the superiority complex and you know what, superiority complex is a kind of inferiority complex. So, what’s your ambition?’

The king then replied, ‘I now ruled most part of this world and I have to rule the whole world one day’.

The saint with a smile again inquired him, ‘After that?’

The king answered, ‘After that I want to relax with no work left and enjoy the world’.

The saint now said, ‘You could enjoy the world from now on why you wanted to wait for ruling the world? Do you find any connect?’

The king has no answer left and he started to think about what Diogenes has told him. Then he asked the saint whether he could do any favor to him.

The king thought he might ask him something that can’t be given, but to his surprise the wise man asked him to step aside as he wants sunlight to fall on him directly.

The man who almost ruled the world could give anything that he wants, but he just wanted him to step aside.

After this the king started to live without wars and there is a coincidence that Diogenes and Alexander left this world with the story all known that Alexander dead with the stretched hand. Alexander’s last message to the world is an inspiration from an Indian saint.

As a Conclusion, Proud to be an Indian, but don’t hurt other countrymen just because you’re Indian because you will be categorized even within this nation from state to state because the border lines are everywhere.

I, Me and Myself - An Indian Confession

Hi all,

Let me introduce myself. I'm an Indian. I'm here to explain about my characteristics. You can see me everywhere.Turn to your left, I'm there. Turn to your right, I'm also there. If you’re alone, I'm you as well. I'm not the same one everywhere. I'm divided by languages, states, religions, castes etc. Still, I'm enjoying the so called “Unity in Diversity”. Mine is a developing country. Here is a list of things I do for my country.

Starting from little things, I always complain about my country’s pollution. But, I don’t have the patience to throw my waste in the bin. Yes, I litter everywhere I go. Not only littering, I can spit on the roadsides of my country. I hate corruption; I bribe people to get my things done faster. In short, I cheat my government, every way I can and I expect favours from my government. I shout at piracy; I download and watch movies that released a day before, instead of going to a movie theatre. I curse people who asks dowry; I can’t accept a girl without dowry.

Agriculture is the backbone of my country and I've done no good to agriculture since my birth. I love nature; I kill trees for my home and business. I whine about accidents; I hardly follow any traffic rules. After all of this, I've many other unique specialities which, can’t be shrunk into a blog post. I show my patriotism, philanthropy, social awareness, public interest and everything else only on social media. I will not take any steps further
.
I wonder how many of me are going to understand this self-criticizing post and let go the few mentioned characteristics that are harmful to myself and my nation as well. If one does, I’m happy that I achieved something.

I should change myself.

Honestly,

You.
